Welcome

We're having a BOY and we couldn't be more happy! This is where we'll share updates on my pregnancy, all things Baby Miller and how our baby boy is growing after he arrives. You'll hear us refer to him as "Baby Boy" quite often, because we are keeping his name a surpise until he is born. We wanted something to be a surprise. :)Thanks for visiting & feel free to leave us a comment!

Three Months

I guess it has been about a month since I last posted photos.  Time just gets away.  I know I say that every time, but I just can't believe how fast it flies by.  We have a THREE month old!  WOW!  He is the most precious baby.  So sweet & a really good sleeper.  We are truly blessed!  We are all doing good and trying to enjoy every moment with our "Boo Boo".

Love,
*T, M & E*

This is Elliott in his Halloween costume.  I wasn't going to dress him up, but I just had to since it was his very first Halloween.  I picked out a lion costume to crochet him before he was born but I did not have time to do it.  I decided to look up patterns & found this one on a blog.  I modified it a bit, but it turned out so cute!  Plus I looked up his Zodiak sign and he is a Leo so it was perfect.

On November 2nd we went to visit Nana & Papa and celebrate my dad's birthday.  My cousin Megan came over and brought her baby Kerrington.  She is 5 weeks older than Elliott.  This was the first time they met & I think they liked each other. :)   The next day we went to see Aunt Steph at work.  The bottom photos are of the first toy Elliott has grabbed onto, a photo of him with his favorite finger in his mouth & a Christmas light photo experiment I was trying out. :)

He LOVES his bath time every night.  This rubber ducky is the first toy he has reached out to touch.  He likes it a lot.

He loves to sit straight up now.  I took these this morning while he was sitting in my lap.  He doesn't like to lean back very much.  He wants to see what's going on.  He's getting really strong.

2 Months

Well it seems like time is just flying by & here I am posting Elliott's TWO month picture!  We are enjoying this sweet little baby so much.  He has brought so much joy to our lives.  I thought I would be better about updating this blog, but time just gets away.  Here are some photos I've taken in the last week.

Enjoy!

Here Elliott was trying to talk to me while I was taking his photo.  I love his expressions. :)

This is something I have been wanting to do for a while.  It's not the first time I have taken photos of him waking up because it is so funny.  He is really animated when he is first waking up so I just snapped several shots in a row.  I don't ever want to forget all these funny faces.  I love them!

I just love the sweet expression he has here.  I don't think he is camera shy at all, thank goodness!

Five Weeks

Wow, were has the time gone?  I can't believe that Elliott is already five weeks old.  Our days seem to fly by and I haven't had time to update the blog.  I have been taking photos, but its just hard to find the time to sit down and post them. :)  So, here are some photos taken over that last few weeks.

Enjoy!

Elliott's One Month Photo.  He is changing so fast already!

Daddy & Elliott listening to music.  (Michael likes to do this late at night on the weekends)

I laid Elliott in his crib for a few minutes & when I came back saw he was just staring at the whales.  I think he really likes the contrast.

Trixi was in town about a week ago so she, Tara & Kaylee came up to visit.  We had some good sister time which we don't get enough of.

Elliott got to meet his great-grandmother (Nana) for the first time & he loved her.  He slept in her arms the whole time we were there.  Those arms have rocked many babies over the years... 5 kids, 15 grandkids & 10 great-grandkids!

He also got meet his Pa-paw (Tammy's dad) for the first time.  He loved him too & spit up all over him. haha!

August 31st

Today Elliott had his 2 week check up.  I can't believe my baby is already going to be 3 weeks old on Friday.  Time is flying by!  He got another A+ from Dr. McGee.  He is up to 8lbs. 6oz.  She was very pleased with his weight gain & told me to give myself a pat on the back.  She was also impressed with the way he is holding his head up.  She said he shouldn't know how to do that yet, but he's been doing that since week one.  He is a strong little guy.  He is doing well with his feedings but still trying to get on a schedule.  Once we get him down at night he is sleeping anywhere from 4-6 hrs so we are very happy about that.  He seems to still be a bit of a night owl though wanting to stay up until 1:00 a.m. or so, but sleeps well after that.  This does not mix well with mama...  I'm not a night owl, but I'm learning to be.  It's amazing how God seems to adjust things to just work out.  I've stayed up later that I ever have these last few weeks.  I'll keep my fingers crossed he keeps sleeping this well too.  That's all I have for now & of course I have a photo to share.  I made this hat for him while I was pregnant, but it is almost too small already.  I'm glad I got a photo before he out grew it.  Enjoy!

Elliott Michael is HERE!

So I know he has been here for 10 days now, but we have been busy.  I've been meaning to post some pictures so here they are.  I have lots to share, but since I'm mainly trying to soak it all in & spend as much time with my sweet baby as possible I'll just share some photos for now.  Enjoy!  We are!

37 Weeks!

I'm a little late posting this since I'll be 38 weeks in just a couple of days, but I still wanted to share.  We went on Thursday for our 37 week appointment and everything is just fine.  No news yet.  Here is a belly photo from this week.

I also wanted to show off baby boy's coming home outfit.  I knew from the time I found out I was pregnant that I wanted to make something for our baby to come home in.  I wanted it to be something that could become a family heirloom one day.  Being an August baby I knew I would have to use a light weight yarn and it would have to be something that wasn't too hot.  I bought this yarn in Jacksonville, AL at a shop while on a "field trip" with the crochet group, The Chain Gang, that my boss Betty is a member of.  After that, I searched the internet for a newborn onsie pattern.  I started to knit one & just wasn't happy with it, so I decided to search for a crochet pattern since I had found a hat pattern that I liked & it was crocheted rather than knit.  I found this pattern & on the 3rd try, with a few of my own tweaks I finally finished it.  I am so, so happy with the way it turned out & I'm excited to try it on him!

36 Weeks & Counting

I'm now 36 weeks!  Just a few weeks to go! The belly is definitely growing and we are getting anxious to meet baby boy.  Here's a picture at 36 weeks.  Also Michael has been looking at funny/cute onsies online & we decided to make some of our own.  I had some iron-on transfer paper left over from some shirts I made a while back so we designed a few iron-ons and made these last night.  The (C) 2011 shirt has his name on it, but of course you won't learn the name until he arrives so I had to blur it out. haha!

Showered with Love

Our family baby shower was this weekend and we feel so incredibly blessed!  We received so many gifts.  We are very fortunate to have such loving and supportive friends and family that have taken away the burden of purchasing all of these items.  We can't thank everyone enough!  I've taken photos of most of the items we received.  I couldn't fit everything in the picture. haha!

I also washed my first load of teeny tiny baby clothes last night and it was weird.  In a good way though. :)  Thank goodness my friend Mandy gave us a lingerie bag with advice to put all the tiny socks in there to wash so they wouldn't get eaten.  I feel dumb for not thinking of it myself, but I was wondering how you go about washing all the tiny things that could get sucked up in the washer.  It was great advice & worked well!

Now, as promised more maternity photos... "All About the Belly".  Carla did an awesome job!  We LOVE our photos!

Check-Up Today

I went for my 34 week check-up today & everything is looking really good.  She said my blood pressure & weight are great.  She still thinks baby boy will be a bigger baby, but says he could still slow down over the next few weeks so she will just be watching me.  I go back on July 21st,  then I will be on a weekly visit schedule.  I'll be sure to keep everyone updated as I have more visits in the coming weeks.

Love,
Tammy

Here are two pictures from our maternity photo shoot a couple of weeks ago.  I'll be sure to share more when I get them.

Finally, something new to blog about!

I haven’t blogged in a while because there just wasn’t anything significant to blog about.  My appointments have just been check-ups and everything has been going great.

During my last visit (at the end of May) the doctor mentioned that Iwas measuring a little big so she scheduled me for a ultrasound at my next visit to check baby boy’s size & to make sure I didn’t have too much amniotic fluid.  We went June 23rd for my 32 week appointment.  My fluid looks good & baby boy is doing fine.  His average measurement is in the 76% percentile. She says he will be bigger rather than smaller, but that is good.  She said everything looks great and we have nothing to be concerned about.  It is too early to say how big he will be, but they are estimating he is about 5lbs right now, but that is being liberal.  So here are some new pictures of baby boy.

Baby Shower!

We had our first official baby shower this week and are so blessed to work with such wonderful people that care so much about us.  We received a lot of great gifts for our upcoming arrival.  I've posted some photos so you  can see everything.  We just couldn't believe how much stuff we got!  It's just so nice to have so many people excited for us.  We recieved several big gifts including all of our bedding, our video baby monitor & our high chair!

Our friends Bobby (also co-worker) & Eve had their neighbor paint this window art this for us.
It matches his bedding and will look perfect in the nursery.

I found the orr at a local antique shop.  I had been looking online for one with no real luck.
I scored this one for $12!

On Easter we were able to bring home this wonderful bassinet that was used for Michael & his sister when they were babies.  It is so special to us.  I love being able to use it for our baby boy.

The incredibly sweet baby blanket was made by my Nana's good friend, Marjorie Miller. I  was able to meet Ms. Marjorie a few weekends ago and she is a sweetheart.  I cherish handmade items.  I can't wait to bundle baby boy in this soft snuggly blanket!  This picture does not do it justice.

I also recieved another handmade blanket at our office baby shower.
I haven't taken a good photo of it yet, but I'll post it when I do.  It is really beautiful too.
Thanks for looking!

Nursery

Michael & I have been working the last two weekends fixing up baby boy's new room.  We rearraged our house first.  We moved the guest room & Michael's office downstairs & moved my office upstairs.  We have made our former guest room the new nursery.  We are so happy with the results!  Here are a few pictures of before, during & after our project.  There is still decorating to do, but the room itself is finished!  Michael & I worked our tails off, and we think it looks pretty good for a couple of amateurs!  The colors are a little off, but these photos were taken on different days at different times.  You get the picture anyway.  Oh & I've added a few belly pics to the top of the page.  He's growing!

We're Half Way!

Today we had our 20 week appointment which included the big anatomy ultrasound.  This is where they do all of the measurments and check out all his organs.  We got to see all four chambers of his heart, his kidneys, brain, spine and other bones.  She showed us his lips (checking for signs of a cleft palate) and said they look perfect too.  She said his belly looks like he is eating well & he is 13oz. now.  She also showed us the blood flow from the umbilical cord.  It's really incredible that they can see all of this with just a little bit of sound waves.  She had a hard time because he was moving around so much.  You'll see this in the photos.  That is why they all look a little fuzzy.  She was chasing him around the whole time.  I think the apple I ate at lunch gave him a sugar rush or something.  He was very active all afternoon.

Oh, I haven't told all of you this, but I started feeling him move during my 18th week.  It was really amazing.  I wasn't sure the first time it was him moving, but when I felt it again the next day, then again the next day I realized it was him.  It is pretty awesome to feel that.  We were laying in bed the other night & Michael was able to feel him for the first time.  I could tell his bumps were harder so I told Michael to put his hand on my belly, then I put my hand on top of his & the bump was so strong we both felt it.  It was a great moment.  The look on Michael's face was pricless!  I'm so blessed to have such a wonderful husband and he is going to be such a great dad!  We are just so excited and feel so, so blessed right now.  Here are a few pictures from our ultrasound today.

"Boo" the Monkey ~ March 4, 2011

For Valentine's Day Mike & Susan gave us a gift certifcate to Build-a-Bear & Olive Garden.  We thought that was such a great gift!  We decided to make it a date night on the day we found out our baby's gender.  It was such a special night for us and was such a thoughful gift.  We really enjoyed picking out and making the cutest little monkey for our baby boy.  We captured our experience & I've shared some photos below.

Enjoy!

We're having a Boy!

We found out on Friday, March 4th that we are having a boy.  Michael and I are so excited to be expecting a baby boy.  We both had a feeling we were having a boy, but we tried not to let ourselves think either way.  Although, I went as far as to buy something for his nursery because I had such a strong feeling about it.  I'm glad my feeling was right.  haha!  I can just see us with a little boy.  We both love the outdoors so are looking forward to many fishing and camping trips with him.

My pregancy has been really great so far and hopefully it will continue to be a good one.  Every time someone finds out I'm due in August they act disgusted, "Oh, you have the whole summer to get through, you poor thing."  Well I do have a job in the A/C all day & I do have A/C in my house so I think I'll be okay.  My friends that have had summer babies say it's just not that bad.  I'm optimistic!
